The black stopper seals the jar tightly, which keeps the oil from evaporating when I forget to flip the reeds. I grabbed the kraft reeds and they look way more natural on my shelf than the plastic ones I've tried before.
The reeds are sturdy and soak up the oil evenly, so the scent throws nicely across my living room without being overpowering. Swapping in the black reeds instead of kraft was a simple way to match my decor, and the 8 oz. size feels like it'll last a good while.
